INTRO: Chronic tubotympanic suppurative otitis media is much more common and more easily treatable and manageable compared to second type of chronic suppurative otitis media i.e. chronic atticoantral suppurative otitis media.

1. Recurrent or persistent mucopurulent ear discharge

SIGNS:
1. Mucopurulent discharge.

INVESTIGATIONS:
1. Radiographs of sinuses to rule out any sinusitis.

GENERAL TREATMENT PLAN: Aimed mainly at following:
1. Treat upper respiratory tract disease if any present or starts. Aggressive treatment is recommended.
2. Local cleaning of ear via cotton swap, suction, and syringing.

PRECAUTIONS:
1: No water entry into the ear. This must be aggressive. All things, which may cause water entry to the ear, should be avoided.
